DAWN OF AZAZEL Begins Recording New Material
November 3, 2007New Zealand's most notable metal export DAWN OF AZAZEL played its first show last month since returning from a successful European tour in June. The band supported rock legends MOTÖRHEAD at their first New Zealand show on Friday, October 19 at the TSB Stadium in New Plymouth, Taranaki.
Commented frontman Rigel Walshe: "We'd like to thank all the fans that were up the front for our support for MOTÖRHEAD. It was amazing to be part of such a big show and support a band that is not only a legend of metal but one of my personal favourites. So many fans, so many beers, defintely a show and afterparty we will remember for years to come! Our next move is two headlining shows in Wellington on the 16+17th of November, and then touring in support of BEHEMOTH on their New Zealand/Australia tour in December. We had a killer time playing with them at the Hellraiser fest in Leipzig [Germany] earlier this year and we can't fuckin wait to do it again! Additionally, we entered the studio last week to record a few promo tracks for our next album. We should hopefully have a sample online for you in the next few weeks."
DAWN OF AZAZEL's latest album, "Sedition", was re-released in September 2006 with a video bonus track and distributed through RED/Megaforce Records/MIC via Ibex Moon Records.
DAWN OF AZAZEL created a stir in 2005 after a New Zealand newspaper published an exposé on frontman Rigel Walshe's occupation as a police officer and the band's lyrical content (check previous BLABBERMOUTH.NET stories: Story#1, Story#2, Story#3).
